INCREASE IN IMPORT PROCESSING CHARGE.

Increase in Import Processing Charge.

 

In May this year we advised of an increase in the Import Processing Charge (IPC) collected by the Australian Customs and Border Protection (ACBP) agency to be efective from 1st January 2014.

 

Attached for your information is the Explanatory Memorandum from Canberra setting out the details.

 

The most significant increase is for electronically lodged declarations for sea consignments the cost goes from $50.00

per declaration to $152.60 per declaration for consignments with a value for duty of $10,000 or more. A similsr increase applies for air consignments.

Consignments with a value of less than $10,000 per declaration will remain at $50.00.
