Due to Protected Industrial Action that commenced on the 4th of September the Port of Sydney is experiencing congestion at the Sydney Terminals.
Shipping line MSC has decided to apply a Congestion Surcharge of USD$300 per TEU.
This will apply on imports and exports for vessels that arrive on or after the 14th September.
Cargo to and from the USA will be from cargo possession on or after the 8th October.
Currently this only applies to MSC cargo however we will need to wait and see if any other Shipping Line decide to apply a surcharge.
